Betty L. Ware, Longtime Resident of Excelsior Springs, Passes Away at 91

Betty L. Ware, a cherished figure in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, has passed away at the age of 91. Ware, who was known for her vibrant spirit and diverse talents, died at her home on September 8, 2024.

Born on October 9, 1932, in Benton County, Missouri, Betty was a lifelong resident of Excelsior Springs. Despite being a housewife, she was widely recognized as a jack of all trades. Her passing marks the end of a significant chapter in the local community.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Velma Wyman; her husband, Harold E. Ware; and her son, Edward Shelton. She is survived by her sons, William A. Pemberton of Independence, MO, and Ray E. Ware of Magnolia, Texas; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Brenda Jensen of Edgerton, Missouri.

Tributes from the community have been heartfelt. Andrea Reynolds described Betty as a “nice lady,” while Jen Tackett recalled her as someone who had once lived in a house they were familiar with.
