Bernardin Gilbert, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, has passed away at the age of 89. He died on September 11, 2024, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Gilbert was deeply loved by his family and is remembered for his kindness and dedication. He is survived by his children Rheal (Linda), Michel, and Suzanne Schmitt, as well as his step-children Kimberley Boudreault, Katherine Saucier, and Gerald Saucier. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose-Marie, and his sons Remi and Patrick.
"Rest in peace Bernardin, he was 89," wrote Henri Giroux in a heartfelt tribute. Other condolences included messages of sympathy from Ellen B Barriage-Faulkner and Judith Mongrain, who expressed their sadness and support for Gilbert’s family.
Bernardin Gilbert will be interred at the All-Saints Mausoleum, in accordance with his wishes for no visitation or services. Donations in his memory can be made to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation or a charity of choice.
