Beloved Wellsboro Resident Bernice Helen Clark Passes Away at 82

Bernice Helen Clark, 82, of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, has passed away on September 13, 2024. Clark, who was surrounded by family at her time of death, was born on February 23, 1942, to Clarence and Florence Hodder. She was married to Harold “Roy” Clark for 49 years and had a significant career as a head bookkeeper/cashier at Super Duper, Bi-Lo, and Tops. Bernice was also a dedicated Navy veteran and enjoyed hobbies such as sewing and quilting.

Bernice is survived by her husband Roy Clark, daughter Sheila Holdren, brother Robert “Cubby” Hodder, granddaughter Brianna Gillmore, and three grandsons. Her great-granddaughters, AllieMae, Lilly, Molly, and Riley, were particularly dear to her.

The funeral service will be held on September 18, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Carleton Funeral Home, with interment at Tioga County Memorial Gardens. Friends and family have expressed their condolences on social media. “She was such a remarkable woman in so many ways. She will surely be missed,” commented Nancy VanDergrift. “Thoughts and prayers are with her family,” wrote Marla Wetzel. Bernice’s legacy is one of devotion to family, service, and community.
