Beloved Michigan Resident Judy Swinford Passes Away at Age 64, Leaving a Legacy of Love and Creativity

Judy Swinford, a cherished resident of Charlotte, Michigan, passed away on September 13, 2024, at the age of 64. Born on November 5, 1959, in Sidney, Montana, Judy spent most of her life in Laingsburg, Michigan, where she raised a family with her husband of 40 years, Dan Swinford.

Judy’s passions included creating art, painting, sewing, and singing in the band "Dark Rootz." She was known for her adventurous spirit, taking memorable trips with her husband, including a special motorcycle journey to Montana in honor of her late father. Her deep love for family was at the center of her life, embracing all those around her as family and spreading love wherever she went.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ollin and Catherine Pope, and her brothers Dave, Mitch, and Joseph, Judy leaves behind her husband Dan, her sister Kathy Pope, as well as her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Judy’s final words of wisdom to her loved ones were to "believe in yourself" and "be thankful for what you have."

A celebration of her life will be held on October 26, 2024, at Woodhull Township Hall in Shaftsburg, Michigan.

Condolences have poured in from friends and family. "So very sorry for your loss, Dan," wrote Scott Mckimmy. Karen Swinford Hauck added, "So sorry for your loss."

Judy Swinford will be remembered for her love, creativity, and unwavering commitment to those she held dear.
