Beloved Mayfield Resident Dorothy "Dot" Cash Youngblood Passes Away at 92

Dorothy "Dot" Cash Youngblood, a cherished member of the Mayfield community, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. She was 92 years old.

Youngblood, known for her extensive contributions to the community, served alongside her husband, Sheriff Burl Youngblood, as a deputy clerk with the Graves County Sheriff’s Office for 12 years. She was also a co-owner of Burl’s Wrecker Service and a founding member of the Mayfield-Graves County Rescue Squad. In her later years, she worked at Youngblood’s RV Center until her retirement in 2020.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with interment to follow at St. Jerome Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.

Community members have expressed their condolences online. Jim Brown wrote, "Sincerest sympathies go out to the entire Youngblood family during the loss of such a strong and wonderful woman." Judy Farmer added, "Prayers for all her friends and family."

Dorothy Youngblood’s legacy is marked by her dedication to service and the lasting impact she made on her community.
