Beloved Local Figure Mark Lee Ribchinsky Passes Away at 69 in New London, Connecticut

Mark Lee Ribchinsky, affectionately known as "Tutti" or "Ribsy" to his friends and family, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at his home in New London, Connecticut. He was 69 years old. Ribchinsky was born on February 19, 1955, and was a lifelong resident of New London.

A graduate of Waterford High School, class of 1973, Mark was a well-known and beloved figure, particularly for his role as a trainer for the school’s athletic teams. He later attended Mitchell College, earning a business degree. Mark worked for many years at NAPA Auto Parts in Waterford and was highly regarded for his expertise in computer repairs, often helping friends and family with their technology needs.

Mark was an avid sailor and a member of the Mystic Mudheads, where he spent many happy days on the water. He is survived by his brother, Gary Ribchinsky, and his sister, Diane Maran, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. His Siamese cats, Reyna and Wren, were a great source of joy for him.

Tributes poured in from friends and family, with comments like, “My condolences to you Gary and his family. God bless you all,” shared by David Peraldo, and “So sorry Amigo,” from Bob Ahern.

Mark’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Thomas Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, with a burial to be scheduled at a later date.
