Terence Fairley, a well-loved resident of Jarrow, passed away peacefully at home on September 10, 2024, at the age of 71, surrounded by his devoted family. Known affectionately as "Tess," Terence leaves behind a legacy of love and admiration from those closest to him.
Fairley was the devoted husband of Trisha, a loving father to Jayne and Paul, father-in-law to Stu and Danielle, and a cherished grandfather to Dylan, Daisey, and Isabelle. His bond with his siblings, Jean, Michael, and Sharon, was also deeply treasured. His passing has left an immense void in the hearts of all who knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at St. Bede’s Church in Jarrow, followed by a burial at Jarrow Cemetery. Attendees are invited to celebrate Terry’s life afterward at THE SHACK in Boldon. Donations will be accepted in lieu of flowers, in support of Jo Pike’s cancer treatment.
Condolences poured in on social media, with Jean Lucas recalling, "Had many a good night in the Albert with Terry. He did not deserve what he went through." Kerry Roberts echoed the sentiments of many, calling him "a lovely man."
Fairley will be fondly remembered as a "legend of a man" who touched the lives of all who knew him. Rest in peace, Terry.
