Beloved Family Man Joseph Christopher Roe Passes Away Peacefully at 90

Joseph Christopher Roe, a cherished member of the Beverley community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, 7th September 2024, at the age of 90. He was surrounded by love and remembered as a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

Joseph, known fondly as Joe, was the husband of the late June and the much-loved father of Josie, Karen, Nigel, Sally, Simon, Joanne, and the late Mandy. His legacy also includes his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous in-laws who were all deeply fond of him.

The funeral service for Joseph will be held on Wednesday, 2nd October, at 11:30 a.m. at The Haltemprice Crematorium in Willerby, followed by his interment at Queensgate Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Beverley Town Cricket & Recreation Club, a cause close to Joseph’s heart.

Tributes from friends and family have poured in. Carol Lightowler sent her love to the Roe family, saying, “Sending all our love to all Joe’s family.” Janette Lesley fondly remembered Joseph and his late wife, noting, "I remember him and his wife always together, always holding hands, condolences to the family." Cheryl Westerman also added her heartfelt thoughts, expressing, “Thinking of you all Xxx.”

Joseph will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and the community.
