Amanda Dugas, a longtime neighbor, reflected on Franklin’s influence, stating, "Today started off bad with news of my neighbor for almost 14 years passed away! She was 77 and a little firecracker lol She was like a grandma to me and she always said I was like a granddaughter to her! She would always call me if she needed someone to talk to or if she ever needed anything done for her or if she needed something from the grocery store! She would actually usually yell at me if she saw me outside lol I gonna miss that the most Sue Franklin!! We are praying for your family for strength to get this through time! Thank you for being in a lot of our memories, you crazy little fireball lol We’ll make sure to send you a lantern and balloons on your birthday next month!"
