Grand Bank, Newfoundland – It is with great sadness that the community of Harbour Mille mourns the loss of Miriam Vardy, who passed away peacefully on the morning of September 3, 2024. Known affectionately as "Nan," Miriam was a cherished figure in her community and will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and deep love for her family.
Miriam lived most of her life in Harbour Mille, where she was known for her boundless energy and enthusiasm. She was especially fond of Christmas mornings and took immense pride in her three sons, who reside in Labrador. Her adventurous spirit never waned, even in her later years, as she continued to take on projects like painting her two-story house well into her 70s.
Her family recalls Miriam’s lively presence and ability to keep everyone engaged, a testament to her character. As the community joins her family in mourning, they also reflect on the values and principles she, alongside her late husband Herb, instilled in their children and grandchildren.
