Beloved Community Figure Teresa Grace Trehy (Voshell) Passes Away After Battling Pancreatic Cancer

Teresa Grace Trehy (Voshell), a cherished friend and community advocate, passed away on September 12, 2024, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Trehy, who had been receiving care at Kavanaugh House, was surrounded by love from her family and friends during her final days.

Despite her illness, Trehy achieved significant milestones, including receiving an honorary RN degree from Mercy College of Health Sciences in a private ceremony attended by notable figures from the institution. She also celebrated her 50th birthday and her son Trenton’s graduation from his CNA program, reflecting her deep commitment to both her family and her profession.

"Pancreatic cancer Sucks!" wrote Tonya Scarcello Sargent, capturing the sentiment shared by many who knew Trehy. Her passing has prompted a wave of support for her family, with initiatives such as a meal train and a fundraiser to assist with their financial needs during this difficult time.
