Barnegat Resident Angeletta Sheppard Killed in Galloway Township Hit-and-Run; Driver Still at Large

Galloway Township, NJ – Tragedy struck on the evening of Thursday, September 12, 2024, when 33-year-old Angeletta Sheppard, a resident of Barnegat, was killed in a fatal hit-and-run incident. The accident occurred around 7:54 p.m. on Route 30, near the intersection of 7th Avenue in Galloway Township.

Sheppard was walking when she was struck by a vehicle, and the driver immediately fled the scene on foot. The vehicle, a 2016 silver Kia Optima, was later recovered by police and is under investigation to determine its connection to the incident.

Angeletta Sheppard was pronounced dead at the scene. The sudden and tragic loss has left the community in shock, with family and friends mourning her untimely passing.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Galloway Township Police Department are actively investigating the case. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the hit-and-run to contact them or provide tips through Crime Stoppers.

On Facebook, many expressed their condolences and prayers for Sheppard and her family. The Galloway Township Police Department also shared an official post about the fatal crash.

Raffaella Desiderio Nichols commented, “Sending prayers that justice is served,” while Lisette Jacome Thomas posted, “Praying for the family during this difficult time.” Others echoed similar sentiments, hoping for justice and accountability.
