Attila Simon, a beloved 46-year-old man, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, just one day after celebrating his birthday. His passing has left friends, family, and those who knew him reflecting on the life of a man dedicated to friendship, truth, and international unity.

Attila was instrumental in building bridges between Israel and Hungary. His close friend, Hananya Naftali, shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, recalling how they became friends in 2015 when Attila invited him to Hungary. At the time, Naftali was serving in the army, but took extra leave to meet Attila and his wife. Their friendship blossomed from that point on, and Attila played a key role in encouraging Naftali to speak publicly about Israel, even arranging his first event in Budapest.

Naftali expressed deep gratitude for Attila’s unwavering support, especially during difficult times. Following the tragic events of October 7th, Attila frequently checked on Naftali and his family, showcasing his selflessness. According to Naftali, Attila’s wife once said, “He loved Israel more than he loved himself,” a statement that highlights the deep passion and commitment Attila had for causes he believed in.
