Alan "Marty" Jackson Martin III, Entrepreneur from Hugoton, Kansas, Passes Away in Richmond, VA

Richmond, Virginia – Alan "Marty" Jackson Martin III, a well-respected entrepreneur and family man, has passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2024, while working in Hugoton, Kansas. Marty, who was known for his dedication to his family, community, and his work, leaves behind a legacy of service and commitment.

Marty was an Army veteran and a distinguished entrepreneur in the process controls solutions field. He served as a consultant with Seaboard Energy and was highly respected for his expertise. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Marty was a former mayor and communications officer for The West Avenue Improvement Association, where he actively worked to improve his neighborhood.

His personal interests included flying as a licensed private pilot, cooking, traveling, and playing golf. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles and sharing meals with family and friends. Marty’s passion for community service and involvement in local organizations left a lasting impact on those who knew him.

Marty is survived by his partner Dorothea, his son Christopher Martin and daughter-in-law Lauren, as well as his grandchildren Brianna Farrell (Zack), Alexis, Isabelle, and Luke Martin. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Ella and Elijah Farrell. Marty is survived by his siblings, Celeste Riddle and Jeffrey Martin, along with many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held in Richmond, Virginia, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Richmond Animal Care and Control Foundation, Historic Richmond, or The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
