Centereach, New York – Josiah Kirk, a 14-year-old resident of Centereach, is in critical condition after a serious accident on Thursday afternoon. Josiah was rollerblading when he was struck by a car, resulting in severe head injuries and brain swelling.
Josiah underwent emergency brain surgery and is currently in the ICU, fighting for his life. His family is deeply concerned and has launched a fundraiser to help cover the mounting medical expenses. As of today, the campaign has raised $11,885 of its $20,000 goal.
The GoFundMe page, organized by Daryl Kirk, has received widespread support with contributions from individuals like Nikolas Davila, who donated $335, and Corey and Jaclyn McMahon, who contributed $100.
On Facebook, Keri Col shared the fundraiser, expressing her support for Josiah and his family. She wrote, “Please consider supporting one of our students’ families. Josiah moved up to Centereach two years ago and is one of Trinity’s friends. He was hit by a car while rollerblading and is in critical condition.”
