11-Year-Old Carlo Kingston Dorelli Arrested in Volusia County for Threatening School Shooting

Volusia County, Florida – An 11-year-old boy, Carlo “Kingston” Dorelli, was arrested and charged with making a written threat of a mass shooting after a troubling incident involving students at Creekside and Silver Sands Middle Schools.

Dorelli, a student at Creekside Middle School in Port Orange, reportedly compiled a "kill list" and showcased an arsenal of weapons, including airsoft rifles, pistols, and fake ammunition, to his classmates. He also threatened violence at his school. Sheriff Mike Chitwood of Volusia County confirmed that Dorelli had made serious threats and that swift action was taken to prevent any potential danger.

The sheriff’s office recovered the weapons and other items, including knives and swords, that Dorelli had displayed in a video. Despite the boy claiming that his actions were a joke, law enforcement officials took no chances, with Sheriff Chitwood stating that public safety remains a priority.

Dorelli has been charged with a felony for making a written threat, and a video of his arrest, which shows him being led in handcuffs to the jailhouse, has been released by the sheriff’s office. Sheriff Chitwood emphasized that threats of this nature are taken seriously, stating, “Every time we make an arrest, your kid’s photo is going to be put out there… We’re going to put you out for public embarrassment.”

This arrest has sparked conversations on social media, with some, like Joshlynn Jean, commenting, “As they should. They want to act grown, they can be treated as such.” Others have expressed concern over the seriousness of the threats and the importance of addressing such issues early.

Local authorities continue to investigate the situation, and the case highlights the importance of vigilance in ensuring school safety.
